Next up! Adisann Brentlinger! She has been with us for 5 years. Our barn is her barn, because she and her family spend lots of time there. From helping during kidding season, to coming over to cuddle and play with all of the babies and still stopping by to give snacks to the does, Moose and chickens in the “off season”. Shes very active in 4-H, soccer/softball and the list goes on. Being busy doesn’t stop her and her big sis Katie from being in the barn giving ample time to their fair projects.
Living 1/2 mile down the road and being a NW student I obviously get to spend a great deal more time with her. Much like Lilly Tirey, she’s eager to learn how to do it all on her own. So at the end of last season, I put a pair of clippers in her hands and told her 2026 was her year to learn. So she did! She did 2 jackpot shows to prep for the fair and groomed her goat prior to. Coltyn and I assist with final clean up and legs but next year I know she’ll be a pro at it.
Tuesday morning Adi got 1st in her class for market showmanship with Reba and came back in and got reserve in her division.
This winter, Adi approached me about trying production shows this fair. Of course she wanted to show her girl Fancy! We all love Fancy-she’s super cool looking and she’s the best goat-but I know her paint color doesn’t often do well. I tried to encourage her to take any doe OTHER than Fancy, but the girl stood on business! Tuesday afternoon she picked up a 2nd place ribbon showing Fancy in Market Production class. Then Adi showed Reba accompanied by Katie showing Fancy in the Mother-Daughter Production class and took 1st place! 🥇 My jaw hit the dirt covered show ring floor. And might I add, I’ve been telling Katie I would get her in the ring one day showing a goat for us-we did and she showed Fancy in the mother-daughter show like a BOSS!
Wednesday in Market Show she picked up a 5th place ribbon with Reba and 2nd place ribbon with Stella!
Thursday in County Produced Show, she snagged a 3rd place ribbon with Reba in her class. She placed 1st in an extremely competitive weight class with Stella, then came back in and won Reserve Champion County Produced Doe.
Of course we are all over the moon for her-but the best thing as I go through photos of these shows, is watching joy on other peoples faces when she wins.
Then the sweetest thing. I happen to find the first doe Adi ever showed in the production barn, Jolene. She was so excited to see her again!
What a week for this family! They deserve it!
We love you, kiddo!
