Busy couple of days on the farm 😴 I raked up 160 hills for pumpkin plants . Thank you very much to Mike Murray for coming over and helping me lay 600 ft of w**d barrier and plant 800 pumpkin seeds ! 🙏 We got it done in about 2 hours.🙌

The Brandt family and I had our second cattle drive of the year, and moved most of the highlanders to the north field at 6 am this morning. Not the smoothest cattle drive ever done 😅🤦‍♂️😂 All of the adults went without a problem, but none of the babies would step over the fence on the ground 🙄 So we had to bring them all over individually , and its about a quarter mile drive. 🥴 but everyone is where they need to be and everyone seems happy, so its all worth it. You should be able to see them from the road now. Just look at the end of our property , closest to the i95 bridge.

Yesterday Peter and I put the rest of the corn in the ground as well. So we now have e about 60,000 corn plants in. The plants in the greenhouses are starting to fill in as well. Here's a few photos of those too !

Larry is our official farm lettuce quality tester !! I asked him what he thought of it, and he was too busy stuffing his face to answer me 😅 I'll take that as a thumbs up!!

Larry is a Russian tortoise 🐢 I believe he is about 6 years old. Ive had him for a year and a half now , and I couldn't imagine life without this little guy. He can live for about another 95 years or so ! One of my sons is already prepared to inherit him when its my time. So grateful for that 😁❤️

Quick update on the farm !

First off I'd like to thank a few volunteers I had this week ! Ashley Melanson thank you so much for coming the last few weeks and helping me put seedlings in the ground ! Stasia Cox Thank you for spending 7 hours helping me wash eggs this weekend ! Stasia is also a real estate agent and my best friend, so if you have any need to sell or buy a house, please reach out to her !

Also huge thank you to Caden and Max from Waldorf school for coming and helping me plant a couple hundred more lettuce plants ! I appreciate your help ! And thank you to Frank Taylor for bringing them out. Hopefully this will be a yearly event ! 💚

Also the egg cooler is fully stocked again ! Thank you for your patience the last couple of days while we were too busy around the farm to restock. 🙏

CSA UPDATE :
I had my first battle as a farmer this past week. Had a Vole and feild mouse problem, they helped themselves to 12 of my cucumber plants and a few other things 🙄
The good news is that I've been succession planting every 2 weeks so it didnt put me that far behind.

I would like to delay the csa term a week and have the first pick available July 1st. If this is a big problem for anyone, please let me know. Im looking forward to meeting you all soon !

So, I was going to wait and show you all when I had time to make the bigger ones, but this is too cute to keep to myself ! In order to see how they would look, I made a miniature one. Check out how cute these highlander planter boxes are !! Might put some microgreens in this one 🤔 😅💚

Please excuse the quality, it was super foggy tonight ! But exciting times ! After his bottle Lil Finn finally nursed from his mama for the first time ! 🤩 My little guy is growing up !
