🎶 Live Music This Saturday: Orb Mellon (duo with Dave Robbins)

We’re excited to welcome Orb Mellon, performing live in a duo with Dave Robbins, a veteran Connecticut blues harmonica powerhouse.

Orb Mellon is the blues moniker of Mike Malone, founder and guitarist of the 1990s indie rock band Dirt Merchants (Sony/Epic). His sound mines the raw energy of 20th-century American roots music—particularly the whiskey-soaked, house party Delta blues tradition. Influenced by Bukka White, Junior Kimbrough, and John Fahey, Orb delivers gritty, sonically aggressive, and ever-evolving original blues. One early reviewer described it as “blues in all its primeval glory.”

He’s shared stages with David Johansen (New York Dolls), Daddy Long Legs, Charlie Parr, and R.L. Boyce, and was a featured performer at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. His music has also appeared in Justified, True Blood, Extant, The Good Wife, and more.

Currently, Dave Robbins leading popular New England Blues quartet, The Incredible Amplifires, collaborating with world acclaimed Chicago Blues artist, Mud Morganfield and Indie folk/blues artist, Orb Mellon. Dave also produces the popular Northeast Blues Harmonica Showcase and Northeast Blues Guitar Summit at Hartford’s Black-eyed Sally’s. Known affectionately as “The Kosher Kid,” he’s a fiery Blues Harp master and major force keeping the blues and blues harp vibrant in New England

This Saturday! What’s better than Pilates and wine?

Strengthen the core, tone the body, and then enjoy a glass of small-batch wine or cider! North Haven’s first micro-winery, Valor Wines, will host us for our semi-annual Pinot & Pilates event. Event ticket purchase includes a 45-minute Pilates class and one glass of wine or hard cider.

All levels are welcome! Please note this event is held at the winery, not at the studio. Please bring a Yoga/Pilates mat with you. The event will be held outdoors if the weather is nice, or inside the winery in the case of rain.

Bobby Frank is a talented singer/songwriter hailing from East Haven, CT. Their love affair with music began at a young age, singing in the church choir and being introduced to 60’s and 70’s rock bands by their dad. Classic rock remains close to Bobby’s heart, influencing their unique musical style, which blends Rock/Pop with a touch of Folk.

Bobby learned to play guitar while attending high school in the late 90’s and soon formed their first band, performing gigs along the shoreline on Saturday nights. Writing and recording music quickly followed. In recent years, Bobby has been performing solo with just an acoustic guitar and harmonica, delivering heartfelt covers by artists ranging from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Tom Petty to 90’s bands like Counting Crows and Gin Blossoms.

🎶Carla Z & Tony Di are back in the tasting room this Saturday, May 3rd from 5-8 pm. Stop in and enjoy our a night of great drinks and music!

Carla Zipay has been singing her heart out since the age of four. A history of singing in choirs, jazz ensembles, and a background in musical theater all lead her to living her singing dream out loud. Carla has done radio and advertising work, voice overs, and jingles and sings with some of the finest musicians in the tri-state area and beyond, to name a few, Joey Melotti, the late Rohn Lawrence, Jay Rowe and Marion Meadows. Currently, with her acclaimed jazz duo as well as fronting some of the most popular bands on the local scene, many bases are covered musically speaking. Although she is a fan of all genres of music, her personal singing style is jazz, R&B, soul, funk, pop and dance.

Tony Dioguardi is a Connecticut based blues/jazz/ R & B/whatever guitarist who has performed with Jaimo’s Jazz Band, Bernard Purdie, Jeff Pevar, Jim Oblon, Guitar George Baker, Laco Dezci, Rickie Miller and Brand Taylor.

Anthony Gadaleta is a dynamic singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from the New York Metro area. Best known as the powerhouse frontman and guitarist for Connecticut’s popular What Up Funk Band, Anthony has built a reputation for delivering electrifying performances filled with reimagined dance grooves and infectious energy.

A graduate of the Purchase School of Music with a focus on classical guitar, Anthony’s musical talents extend far beyond the stage. He’s written and recorded two original albums (As Funky as U Wanna Be and Soulfunkful) and has performed with a variety of acclaimed acts, including:
