National Ag Day!!! Agriculture is so very important, It teaches responsibility and accountability. It teaches life skills, patience, work ethic, team work and financial literacy, it’s endless.

We are so proud of the hard work that these kids put into their projects, watching the impact that agriculture has had on these kids is remarkable to watch. ✨✨

5:15 this morning kaidyns little guys were peacefully sleeping right next to each other! They both must of been dreaming, one had his ears twitching and the other had his legs twitching. Not a care in the world! It is pretty sweet to see all the pairs and how they are always together in the pastures. Sam’s pair Hank and Henry were sleeping with their heads wrapped around each other the other day. Just as cozy as can be! 💕

These guys made their way to community night at the middle school! It was the first field trip for Evans calves, lilys little pair and tanks first time out without mom, they did great. So happy to see these guys out and can’t wait for the next field trip. It always make me smile when the public is shocked what these steer kids can do, they put a lot of time into it!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter! Tank certainly did 🐣🐰

Kids have been doing conditioning lately, checking on weights of steers, hoof trimming, they got all their ear tagging done as well. Some pictures of them at ag day and this past weekend we had 7 kids attend a beef clinic 2 hours away, very early morning for the kids! It was very informative and us adults learned some things even! They did some judging skills, showmanship skills, fitting etc., about 55 kids attended in total, wish we had their 4-H person, what a knowledgable helpful and smart lady! They have been working on skills of shooting hoops from the back of their steers, maybe they will find a show class some day that requires it 🤣 hope you enjoy the pictures!

Jesse says - Yep, nope, not coming out today! 16” and still coming down. Farmers are some of the toughest people you’ll ever know. No matter the weather, no matter anything, chores still need to be done. I was always taught the animals get fed and tended to first. I had someone tell me the other day, he didn’t want to work in the cold- I might be still laughing at that! Jesse though and all the cows are fed, happily waiting for the snow to stop!

Hunters cow Geillis had a calf this week, everyone meet sweet Jesse Mae 💕 It’s so cute to watch this little lady get used to sights and sounds of the farm life. Watching her try and figure out what the heck a chicken is and look with her crocked head when it started clucking was pretty funny! She is getting lots of attention! Kids working cows and best part was watching them play basketball in the barn yard, listening to them have so much fun!

Morgan has glued, carved and is working on polyurethane. She is one lucky little lady because she has been able to have her grandfather right with her to guide her on getting this finished up! Lily has drilled hers and is working on poly for it. Ben had himself a situation last weekend, not always good being 6’ 4” tall. Kimberly gives him an orange everyday she comes over, makes his day! He has been walking around great and his leg is on the mend. Sam has been making sure he gets brushed and he has figured out where the grain is stored 🤣

A few pictures of the last couple days!

Ella got her yoke finished, she made a 6” cherry and maple laminated yoke. It came out great! Brock made a 6” yoke out of cherry and he has all the finishing touches done on this and it’s ready for this show season, it almost looks too good to use on the cows 😅 Brock also made a new chain for his big pair. Morgan is gluing up her next yoke tomorrow morning, one of my favorite combos of wood!

The other kiddos have been busy with working steers and tending to calves. Sam and Liam have been working both pairs together doing some obstacles with them, and pulling. Some have trailered so they can get together with the others to work, which I love!! They are all excited for their projects 😊

I am not sure ANYTHING is cuter then watching Delilah’s excited tail over her feeding times! Unless she is excited about Cole Swindells song that was playing 🤣
