Riverbend Farm

Riverbend Farm Watch us as we bring life back to this once busy home! Purchased in October 2012 (and completely paid off in May 2019 πŸ™ŒπŸΌ) this old homestead needed some love.

Focusing on the basic needs first prior to moving in, water/electric/plumbing, we then started doing other minor renovations. It's still a work in progress. Watch along as we make those reno's, both inside and out, and how we find great deals on the items that we can use to bring it back to life. I'm hoping it will be as beautiful as the vision in my head. Our wishlist to expand on the Hobby Farm

side of it, will take some time to become a reality. The most elaborate thing being a simple barn so we can expand on the equine side of things. 🐎 Keep an eye on our post to see what we are up to and how we're hoping to make the dream a reality. 🌻

IT'S TIME!!!!!
πŸšœπŸ’©πŸͺπŸ«œπŸŒ½πŸ…πŸ₯’πŸ₯¬πŸ«›πŸ«‘πŸ₯•πŸ₯¦πŸ₯¬

Are you planning on starting a garden? Do you need to add to your compost pile or add to your existing one, to get it going again? Now's the perfect time to stock up. The best compost starts with a good base. A good base is horse manure. It's slightly higher in nutrients than cow manure and breaks down quickly.

We are Spring cleaning the paddock from over the winter and piles are already up and doing it's thing. πŸ™ŒπŸ» It's a combination of horse manure, waste hay and some shavings and breaks down fairly quickly.

If anyone would like some, all you would need to do is drop off an empty container/bin. We can fill 5 gal buckets, heavy duty trash can, etc., and small trailers; like the one pictured below or smaller. These will need to be dropped off as our availability to fill is random so we may not be able to fill them right away. (We cannot do dump trucks)

We ask that you reach out to us via PM, to let us know what you're dropping off, especially if it's a trailer. Please have your containers marked with your name.

We'll fill your item(s) and let you know when it's ready to be picked back up. Keep in mind, if you drop off trash cans, we may not be able to help you load them as we might not be available at the time of pickup. Consider bringing someone to help with loading just in case.

It'll be first come, first serve. Just a reminder that this IS NOT fully aged (completely broken down) and is not screened. So there may be small sticks/stones. But the end result is pure "gold" and worth the wait. There is no cost for this since, once again, it's NOT completely broken down. πŸ€—

Feel free to reach out with any questions. ~T

We had a "little" visitor between 1:23 AM & 2:17 AM this morning. It set one of our cameras off 3 times during that timeframe. ~T 🫣

Double sided, custom oil painting on antique handsaw.

Oil paints take a lot longer to dry. Dry to the touch took 2 weeks for each side. To be completely cured, it can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.

I will be working on some more pieces soon; saw blades, old shovel heads, etc. In the meantime, if you have any of the above you would like to have done, don't hesitate to reach out. I've done custom pieces on recycled pallets and oars/paddles as well (all of which have been auctioned off for a fundraiser hosted by the Ticonderoga Chamber of Commerce). ~T

Here it is. Finally complete. Overall time from start (tearing down lath/plaster) to finish (nailing the last board up) maybe 8 hours. However, it has been several months in between each step due to other obligations. Total cost, about $15 for the two pieces of plywood (found at a discoun store near us). ~T

Rest easy Esther πŸ₯Ί

Definitely not easy coming home to a dead chicken on a cold, snowy day 😩 I think we're missing 4 others but it was so hard to count them all tonight. I really have no idea what killed her.

With the 55Β° yesterday and rain to 20Β° this morning, it sure became icey. The girls were slipping and sliding so we tossed some sand out. The horses have some traction. Crazy to think we had a lot more snow just the other day!
