We are swimming in dahlias right. Hopefully it’s not the last week of local blooms. We are supposed to get a possible frost Saturday morning. Doing all the weather dances to buy another two weeks of product.

It’s another hot, fall day and too many commitments, so harvest had to happen without taking the bags off first. Trying to take more videos and pics before they all disappear until next season. 🤍

Had to get some shots on this beautiful morning of some of our dahlia growing areas. We are taking the end of the season two weeks at a time based on the weather predictions and I’m really not ready for the season to end. Thankfully, since we overhead water our 4,000 dahlias, we should be able to get through any light frosts. Have a wonderful weekend!

We have an extra 40 stems this week of this variety and this photo does not do it justice. The smokey is perfection. Anyone have an event that needs that little extra dahlia love?

It may be the tail end of the Solidago season. Bringing 150 more stems to KC Flower Farmer Wholesale Market Thursday for our florists.

Just added some inventory to Local Line tonight as I’m cutting in the field. More to be added tomorrow. We will have more dahlias available at Thursdays’ KC Flower Farmer Wholesale Market this week. They are loving the weather.

Our dahlias have been blooming since May and they are so ready for a cool down. Did you know dahlias are happiest and more productive in cooler temps? We try to keep them happy during the 4 months of heat so we can get a 6-7 month blooming season out of them in our 6b zone. Thankful to be able to keep them going for a long season.
