We've been rather MIA on here...life has been a bit of a wild ride lately (more on that later). But good things are happening on the farm!
It's amazing how quickly plans can change. This time last year, we were making plans to move, build a new house, and establish a brand-new "hub" for the farm. It was going to be so cool, and we were stoked.
But that door slammed shut last fall. We were so disappointed.
We had to rewrite basically all our plans for the upcoming year. One of the things we had anticipated doing after moving was establishing a market garden and bringing produce to the farm store. A fresh salad with grilled chicken, all from the farm? Bring it on!
It was tempting to just throw that idea aside, since the move wasn't going to happen anymore. But we decided we needed to fully embrace where we were and trust that things would work out the way they were supposed to, even if it wasn't what we wanted in that moment.
So we turned our front yard into a garden for all of State Route 93 to see π
It's not as big as we'd planned, but maybe that's for the best; we're good at getting ourselves buried in too much work.
All that being said, we'll have salad greens available in another week or two! π₯¬ With carrots, squash, peppers, onions, potatoes, etc. soon to come!
A garden is really a small thing in life, but still, it's an opportunity to learn and grow. Make the most of what you have right in this moment and be thankful π
