It's been a hard week ,but everytime i walk out to the pasture this big beautiful girl greets me. Her and I bonded a lot through her pregnancy and after her having her baby. I'm excited to start working with her.

I spent hours sitting with him today . He damn near took one of my fingers with him when I was feeding him sliced apples . ( You can tell him ' easy' all you want.... he gets a little too excited for those treats .) We talked , I cried . I could see how tired he was and I promised him, he would feel better soon. I thanked him for being such a good friend but then also reminded him that my knees would never let me forget him even if I tried. (Falling after 40 has its perks ...ha ha ...) He went to sleep peacefully tonight and I'm relieved but so heartbroken. I thought he might be around for a while longer but we never know what each day brings. Thank you all for your kind words.

This will be a rough one for me .... sometimes the right decision is the hardest one to make. He is suffering and I know he is . I can see the pain in his eyes , and he isn't responding to any of the treatments. Today will be , 'until we meet again my friend... ' I am sooooo thankful for ALL of the crazy memories I have made with this horse. Thank you all for all the suggestions and kind words. This one was more than ' just a horse' ... he was a friend.

Zahara.... it's almost like having a new horse . Lol. We bought her a year ago ,but she was pregnant and we didn't know how far along . So finally the baby is weaned and has moved on . She did pretty well for not being ridden for so long. She definitely needs to work on her turning but she's a smart mare.

Julibee is our old lady goat. I didn't think she was going to make it through the winter last winter but I clipped her in the spring and have been pounding the minerals to her all summer. She actually is looking pretty good. She was Addie's show goat forever and would almost always win best udder . She will talk like this when she is about to have a baby or when she is in heat . She's definitely not having a baby but she's looking for a boyfriend. I told her absolutely not.

They even look like a bunch of trouble makers don't they ?

Now he is worse again despite all the meds .... if it is EPM is there even hope for him to be pasture sound? This breaks my heart so bad .... I didn't think we were going to make it back to the barn. Just 2 days ago , I felt a little hope..... now i just don't know. I took him out to do some nice pictures with him but didn't expect him to be this bad at all....

Comanche is comfortable being spoiled right now . He isn't having the spasms with his current regimen, but im well aware that if we take him off he might go backwards. We won't know if its all actually working or if something is working until we take him off a little less than a month from now.
