Our undergirding philosophy is simple: “All flesh is grass. All grass is soil.” For you to eat nutrient-dense foods that promote good health, those nutrients must be present in the soil, be available in the pasture, be eaten by the animals, and be passed onto us in meat and milk. We are working toward ecologically healthy, regenerative stewardship of the land and raise our animals just as close t

o God's design as we can manage. We raise and sell grass-fed beef and veal, eggs and chickens from pasture-raised poultry; and pork raised in the woods and on pasture. Our fresh, unprocessed cream-on-top milk and dairy products (from cows and goats) are available only at the farm. Quill's End Farm has been a leader in efforts for food sovereignty in Maine toward community self-determination over our food exchanges, seeking to protect traditional foodways, increase access to Maine raised food, and encourage more community-based food production. Quill’s End Farm is protected farmland under Blue Hill Heritage Trust’s Farmland Forever Program and is a Maine Farmland Trust Forever Farm. We are also proud Grangers at Halcyon Grange #345 in No.

It's 💥🔥⚡️Pop Up Friday 💥🔥⚡️at Quill's End again.
This week, we've made:
🥔💫 G N O C C H I 🥔💫

We've upped our gnocchi game this time and turned the potato pasta pillows into bonafide, groovy gnocchi that'll hold your sauce of choice so beautifully.
Oh, it rained a soft and saturating rain out there today while we worked in the kitchen: we boiled our farm's, fluffy Caribou Russet Potatoes and rolled them with flour, our eggs and salt and pepper. That's it. Keeping it super simple and so delicious. We've frozen them fresh for you. All you have to do is take them home, put them in a pot of salted, boiling water and 5 minutes later, voila...supper. OR...take another 10 minutes and crisp them in a preheated skillet with melted butter and fresh sage or rosemary. This is a worthy extra 10 minutes! Cook until just golden brown and crispy and top with grated Parmesan. That's all.
One point of special note for excellent gnocchi: add them *only* a few at a time to boiling water to avoid clumping.
(Trust us, don't skip this step. Don't ask us how we know. 🫣🙄)

This week’s POP UP FRIDAY is:

Ooh, but it was a raw 🌧️and chilly 🧣day out there today. So we got up to some spicy doings in the kitchen. We took warming chorizo spices, toasted them and put them together with our farm potatoes 🥔 and queso fresco, added kale and Horsepower Farm onions 🧅, then tucked it all into an empanada crust for an altogether satisfying handheld meal in a pastry pocket. Que bueno!
Available all day tomorrow from dawn til dusk in our self-serve, honor system farm store.

While you’re here, pick up an extra wedge of queso fresco or some fresh milk or eggs, yogurt, extreme dream cream, bacon or maple breakfast sausage for the weekend.
