Kaitlyn Martinez, the Doula behind Bump and Bloom serves our Fairbanks and surrounding city families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum!

Being invited into the sacred space of birth is something she never take for granted. To be able to witness the strength, resilience, and love that surrounds each family as they bring their baby into their arms is truly indescribable! It is nothing short of inspiring. 🤍
As someone who love what she does with my whole heart, she helps guide the journey into motherhood and fatherhood, or growing your family even more.
Every birth is beautifully different, unique, powerful, and special in its own way. I carry pieces of each experience with me, always learning, always growing.

Come see her at the Interior Spouses Connection at Bentley Mall Of Fairbanks from 11am to 4pm today and get to know the amazing services she has to offer our community with an open heart.

The Birth Sling… a series! 🤍 The Birth Sling by Dr Jess Michaels®

I’m SO excited to be starting a new series sharing some of my favorite ways to use the Birth Sling during pregnancy, prenatals, and labor!

I absolutely love using this tool with the families I support. These positions may look simple, but even something as basic as swaying while standing can feel amazing and create so much movement. The use of gravity in labor is also just 🤌🏽

While standing with The Birth Sling, you can:
✨ Lean forward or backward
✨ Rock your hips side to side
✨ Make circular movements to encourage a deeper squat
✨ Simply sway and move your body in whatever way feels good

The setup is incredibly easy, the quality is amazing, and the support it provides can help relieve pressure off your back when carrying a growing baby. 🙌🏼

And no, I’m not pregnant, but if I were, I’d be using this as much as possible! 🤭

This is just the beginning of the series, and I’m so excited to show you more of the ways I love incorporating the Birth Sling into prenatal care and labor support. 🤍

Stay tuned for more!

Affirmations are so helpful in a birth space. Sometimes, the right one gets you through till the end. 🌱

Affirmations can help shift your mindset from going into a spiral of panic (=fear =tension) to a peaceful, confident mindset, and a trusting one. Words have power.
Proverbs 16:24 🍯

You can decorate your birth space with lovely affirmations to read, or have them written so your birth team can read them aloud when the timing is right. 🫶🏼

What are some affirmations that helped you through a birth, or what would you want to hear being spoken over you in your birth space? 🌸

Clocked in vs. clocked out 🕰️

Clocked in:
~ capturing pictures of the beautifully painted sky while coming and going to meetings & births with families 🤍
~ celebrating a birthday with the families I work with 🧁
~ keeping my husband updated on the births & him keeping me updated with the kids 💬
~ locked in on the laboring mama I’m serving 🌷
Of course there are so many more things like the late night phone calls, texts, prenatal & postpartum meetings, on-call life… and so much more! I love it all 🥰

Clocked out:
~ soaking up time with family in the mountains of Alaska 🌄🏔️
~ berry picking 🍓🫐
~ summer rodeo fun (or winter indoor fun) 🤩
~ eating all the yummy foods 🤤

Mainly just spending all the time with my family that I can! Homeschooling, being a SAHM, church… all the things. 🥰

✨ WHAT’S IN MY DOULA BAG? ✨

A little peek inside the bag I bring with me to support your birth! 👜🤍

I carry a variety of comfort measures, tools, and little things that can support you throughout labor… and there are definitely a few things in my bag that I didn’t mention here! (Like my own personal snack bag) 😉

I bring these things so you don’t have to. My goal is to come prepared with options so that you can stay focused on your labor instead of worrying about what you might need or want during birth.

But here’s the important part: you do NOT need any of these things to have a beautiful, positive birth. Sometimes I don’t use a single thing in my doula bag. 😂

Maybe your birth moves quickly and there simply isn’t time. Maybe you’re doing an amazing job laboring and don’t need a suggestion, tool, or comfort measure at that moment. Or maybe what you need most is simply your doula beside you, reminding you to breathe, helping you feel grounded, and giving you the space to do what your body already knows how to do.
The tools are there as options, not requirements. 🤍

And if you’re curious about something you see here (or something I didn’t mention!), comment below! I’d love to tell you what it is, why I bring it with me, and how it can be used during labor.

Ready to connect? Head to the link in my bio to inquire and we can schedule your complimentary meet & greet! 🌷
