Finished up harvest yesterday afternoon the exact same day as last year. Record farm average yields for both corn and soybeans! We battled through mud, wind, down corn and rain delays and had a safe, productive harvest!

Got started planting beans on Friday and Saturday. Generally we start with corn however with the cold soil temperatures we decided beans could handle the temperatures
better. If we learned anything last year it was that beans are pretty tough.

We switched over to corn today because of the warmer forecast next week. We strip-tilled NH3 into a standing cover crop and are planting directly into the strips. We see the benefits with cover crops and are trying to incorporate more cover crops into our fields that have a high probability of erosion. Strip-til gives us the benefits of both cover crops and conventional tillage.
