Owned and Operated by the Lachapelle family since 2013. Sunset Orchard is a family owned and operated orchard in beautiful North Scituate, RI. We are open seasonally (Aug-Nov) with Apples, Peaches, and a small variety of Nectarines, Pears, and Plums (Peaches, Pears, Nectarines and Plums are available Aug - Sept) We press our own apple c***r on site with our own apples and sell it in our farm stand. Always fresh...NEVER last year's c***r. We offer pick your own on our peaches and apples. We also offer many varieties of our hand picked apples for sale in our farm stand along with our peaches, pears, and plums when they are in season.

PYO still available here at Sunset Orchard and it finally feels like fall. PYO is Open 10:00-5:00. See....we had nights down in the 30s and look how nice and red those Macouns are now!

🌬️🍂 Where is the crisp cold fall air?? Maybe today October 17th we will finally feel like fall?!
Interesting fact - in order to get a nice red on some apples, like Macouns, we need COLD COLD nights. We have spent all of September and most of October still sweating in t-shirts! If only it was the farmers’ fault….then we could FIX IT!!

If you want to brave all the elements we will be here today working on things, the wind did very minimal damage to the apples outside so PYO will still be going on for October.

Don't listen to ChatGPT October 2nd is NOT when prime apple season ends, October IS the Apple MONTH!! Don't stop supporting your orchards because of artificial information!!

CLOSED today Saturday 9/26/2026. Power is out. We have our generators running, however we all need to stay off the roads for safety. We will reassess tomorrow morning and give an update!

Sunset Orchard will be open today, Friday 9/25/26 10:00am - 6:00pm. The nor'easter may cause power outages and storm damage over the weekend. We will keep you updated as best we can.

🍎🍑PYO Apples & PEACHES!! Don't wait any longer on the Peaches, they are nearing the end! No promises they'll be available for PYO next weekend.

🕔Keep in mind we close the gate at 5:00pm for PYO.

🌧️Sunday says rain. We will still be open 10:00am - 6:00pm. For those who like to avoid the crowds tomorrow would be a good day to come. Lots of fruit in the store!

🤖 It’s being said that ChatGPT is saying that peak apple picking is from Sept 12 - Oct 2. Not true! There will be PLENTY OF APPLES throughout October, in fact October is PRIME TIME for Apple picking!! This false information is detrimental to Orchards in New England. Pay attention only to the orchard/s you follow, not other sources.

Sunset Orchard is an old Orchard and some trees here are as old as your great great grandparents. The land is too rocky for straight rows, the young trees are mixed in with the old. It's beautifully imperfect. Come and step away from this filtered perfect artificial world we are having to live in and refresh yourself amongst the trees.
We are Open for Labor Day 10AM-6PM, then we are closed until Friday to give the trees a rest.

Pick Your Own Apples has started! Early Macintosh, Ginger Gold and Gala. 2.99 per pound no extra fees. More areas will open as the weeks continue!!
Pick Your Own Peaches also 2.99 per pound.
When you enter the apple and peach groves remember everyone picks the first trees first so keep walking to find the trees loaded with fruit!
