Hazel's Acres Farm

Hazel's Acres Farm Hazel's Acres is a small hobby farm in North Stonington, CT where our family is finally making our dreams come true.

Our little family has always dreamed of having a farm. Whether that meant growing fruits and veggies or growing livestock, we've always wanted to be a little more self sufficient than the average family. After many moves and lot of time figuring out exactly what we want, we've settled into a home and are finally making it happen. Like our page for a peek into our daily lives and share in the ups and downs that inevitably accompany life on the farm.

We're selling June-bearing strawberry plants!
These are cold hardy, June-bearing strawberry plants cultivated and grown on our farm.
They love well draining soil (raised beds) with a light covering of wood mulch. We fertilize with rabbit droppings two to three times per year, and provide a moderate covering of straw for over the winter. It is generally safe to uncover them in late March or early April.
$3 each or 2 for $5
We also sell gallon bags of the rabbit fertilizer we use for $5 each

Spring time on the farm is always a messy affair, but it's one we look forward to every year. Seedlings have sprouted and new plants are being put in the ground. All around us we see more and more signs that the hard freezes are officially over! What are your favorite signs of Spring?

Sorry we've been pretty quiet lately.. I will try to do an update video soon. We have expanded our rabbits a bit as well as currently raising 2 dozen chicks in the house to bolster our chickens... we should have some fresh hand made soaps as well as candles available for purchase in the near future!

We built a new hutch just for the baby rabbits we're growing out for harvest. Boys on the left, girls on the right. This time around our ratio was 6 boys to 3 girls off of two first litter does. Hopefully we can increase our numbers this time around!
