Halo's, Hearts & Horns

Halo's, Hearts & Horns We are a small family operation with 165 acres. HHH is owned by Wyona & Vance Ballard; daughter, Kristi Riddler & grandchildren Garrett & Kyndall.

Welcome to the Halo’s, Hearts and Horns Beefmasters. We chose this name for several reasons; (1) We have a private family cemetery located on the premises. HALO’s reminds us of our loved ones who have gone before us as well as the angels who watch over us. (2) HEARTs was chosen to represent family and love while serving as a reminder these things should always be a priority. (3) HORNs because we a

lso raise registered Texas Longhorn cattle and are huge fans/graduate of UT-Austin. We purchased our first Beefmaster starter herd from a family farm in Missouri in 2015. Our family business is operated by owners Vance & Wyona Ballard, co-owners are is daughter Kristi Rhodes and our two grandkids - Kyndall & Garrett. We are located in North Zulch, Texas and our ranch sits on property that’s been in our family for more than 150 years.. The best part of owning these beautiful cattle is making memories with the grandkids!!

You can’t complain about high grocery prices on one hand and then cheer when farmland gets bulldozed for another strip mall or subdivision on the other. The heart of this country has always been its farmers, the men and women who rise before the sun, work through every season, and put food on all our tables. When we lose farmland, we’re not just losing acres of dirt, we’re losing the very foundation of our food supply and a huge part of our culture.

As a country fan, I can’t help but think of how many songs honor that way of life, working the land, raising families, and living by the sweat of your brow. Those songs remind us that farming isn’t just an occupation, it’s a heritage. If we forget that, then we’ll keep paying the price in more ways than one.

Maybe the solution isn’t just complaining at the checkout line, it’s recognizing the value of the land and the people who keep it alive. Because once it’s gone, we can’t get it back, and no neighborhood or shopping center will ever taste as good as fresh food grown right here at home.

The American flag stands as a banner of freedom, but beneath its stripes and stars lies a deeper truth — that this nation, under God, was founded with faith, guided by His hand, and sustained by the prayers of its people.
