Productive week of work at the farm. Noah and Ella hand cultivated the peas, the signs for the pick your own herb garden are out of storage, the potatoes were prepared and planted by Joyce and Alexa, and the sweet corn is popping up in rows!

Exciting news! We will now be partnering with Keystone Mycology for delicious mushrooms!
Keystone Mycology is a woman-owned mushroom cultivation and aspiring mycological research facility based in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

We will be offering a mushroom CSA add-on for the 2022 season with the option of a half-share (~1/2 lb. bi-weekly) or a full share (~1/2 lb. weekly). This CSA add-on will run the full length of the season and include a variety of mushrooms.
If you already purchased your share for the season it is not too late to purchase this add-on. You can purchase the mushroom add-on from our normal CSA sign-up page. Let us know if you have any questions!

We will have an open market at the farm this Sunday from 10 - 2. There will be honey, coffee, eggs, meats, maple syrup, and lots of veggies! Butternut, Sweet Potatoes, Lettuce, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, just to name a few of the over 25 different vegetables we'll have!

There is a magical winery and distillery here in the heart of Saucon Valley called Black River Farms Owners, Kris & Andy, are such a pleasure to work with. Their winery is one of my favorite places. They also have their own honey for sale. We have many Pop Up events planned with them in the future. Tickets will be available soon. They provided the delicious wine & the cucumber martini for our wedding photo shoot.
& Yes! My team & I prepared the food with great care that day. An Elk Ribeye seared in Brown Butter, with local mushrooms from Primordia Farm , a Lingonberry Reduction, and Roasted Red, White, & Blue potatoes from Epic Acre Farm with a fresh rosemary garnish from Terra Fauna Farm.
Our Finnish Salmon soup is a recipe that we fell in love with when we traveled to Finland in January of 2020. We served it with fresh, Finnish Rye Bread prepared by Arctic Swan Bakery.
Sourcing locally is part of my mission as the chef & owner of Local Mama Catering. I strive to support our incredibly talented friends right here within our community. Fortifying relationships and creating a business friendly atmosphere is paramount.

My dear friend, Huma, from Cake As Canvas LLC made our Gluten Free wedding cake. We envisioned a very low glycemic cake, as we wanted a cake that had flavor without being over saturated with sugar. It was an almond ricotta cake with a lingonberry jam center and a salted vanilla meringue buttercream…& it was divine. I love roses and pearls. I picked up fresh Rosemary from Terra Fauna Farm and incorporated cedar branches from their farm into our decor.
I met Huma 10 years ago when she was just getting her business started. I am so grateful for her friendship. She has been a huge supporter of mine. She & her husband joined us in our celebration that day!
Her retail shop is located on West Broad Street in Bethlehem. She focuses on custom cakes, baking and decorating classes, cookie decorating kits, & specialty desserts. Contact her for your next celebration!
