I won’t be at my table tonight, but don’t worry — my amazing fellow vendors will be running things for me! ❤️

🌾 LET’S TALK FLOUR. 🌾

You might recognize this flour… 😂 Yep. THAT flour. The one that recently decided to become one with my bakery floor. 🤦‍♀️

But while we’re looking at it, let’s talk about something you may not know about The Gooch Coop:

Every single product I make uses flour that is NEVER bleached and NEVER bromated.

But what does that actually mean?

BLEACHED FLOUR has been chemically treated to speed up the aging process and change the flour’s color and baking characteristics. Unbleached flour is allowed to age naturally instead.

BROMATED FLOUR has been treated with potassium bromate, which is used as a dough-strengthening and conditioning agent. Its use is restricted or prohibited in many countries, while it remains permitted under certain conditions in the U.S.

So why do I choose unbleached and unbromated flour?

Because I don't need those treatments to make good products. I’d rather start with flour that hasn't been subjected to either process and let time, fermentation, and good baking technique do the work.

It’s one of those little details you might not think to ask about when buying baked goods—but I think it’s worth knowing.

Same standard. Every product. Every batch. ❤️

And yes… I still haven't emotionally recovered from that flour spill. 😂

Sunday Bakery Reset 🧼🍞

Sunday reset at The Gooch Coop is no joke. 😂

From start to finish, this took 7 HOURS with 3 people. And when I say we reset EVERYTHING… I mean EVERYTHING.

Every sheet pan. Every dough bin. Every loaf pan. Washed and sanitized.
Shelves? Washed and sanitized.
Counters? Washed and sanitized.
Garage can? Washed and sanitized.
Recycling can? Washed and sanitized.
Storage bins used to transport finished products? Washed and sanitized.
Floors? Yep. Washed and sanitized.

Because baking is fun… but keeping a bakery clean is a whole different beast. 😂

And somehow, during those same 7 hours, we also:

🍪 Prepped the world-famous Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies
🍪 Prepped Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts
🥞 Made more pancake mix
🍞 Started MORE sourdough starter in the dehydrator so we can make even more pancake mix later!
📦 Prepped all of the packaging and labels for the week

Oh, and in between all of that I also managed to hurt my back, do laundry, take care of the chickens, hunt down my escaped dog Hopper, AND eat dinner.

So yeah… Sunday was productive. 😅

The bakery is clean, the starter is growing, the cookies are coming, the packaging is ready, and I’m officially ready to sit down for approximately 11 minutes before somebody needs something. 😂

Reset: COMPLETE. ✔️

Now… somebody please tell my back that we're done. 😂

I'm open but first...SUNDAY BREAKFAST 😏

I’m sharing this one because apparently I need to prove that English muffins aren’t just for breakfast sandwiches… they’re for elite breakfast sandwiches. 😂

🥓 1 slice Canadian bacon

Simple. Delicious. And the Cinnamon Raisin EM with the salty/savory combo? Don’t knock it till you try it. 👀
