Taking a minute to introduce ourselves. We're Marilé (pronounced Mare-ih-lay) and Dave Borden, owners of The Getaway Bar.
We are full-time professionals, parents to two adult-ish kids, and lifelong lovers of a good party. When we host an event, we rarely settle for ordinary. (Renting a dance floor for our living room is never out of the question.)
It was that love of over-the-top celebrations that made us take notice when we first saw photos of a little Italian wine truck. We were instantly enamored.
So, instead of sitting back and enjoying our newly empty nest, in October 2025 we welcomed The Getaway Bar to our family.
We quickly fell in love with her—and with our respective roles. Dave is Head of Operations, Truck Maintenance, Kegging, Fixing Things & Streamlining Processes. And Marilé is Head of Sales, Marketing and Making Things Look Pretty.
Oh, and we both serve as Co-VPs of Drink Testing. (It's a tough job, but someone needs to do it 🍸.)
