2023 Bio:
My goal is simple, making the world a better place for horses, one person at a time!
My love for horses started as young girl. My aunt and uncle took me to a ranch in the mountains of Colorado. I got to ride my own horse for an entire week, I was hooked!! As soon as I got back to Florida, I started lessons. This developed into showing and with the help of some amazing trainers & horses, we started racking up ribbons and trophies through most of elementary and middle school. Never owning my own horse (s) BUT always taking lessons, learning to be a horse woman and training young/green horses from the ground up. After a brief horse break in high school, I decided on going to college at UCF (Charge On!! :))! I mainly aspired to be the mascot (Pegasus and the Knight). One afternoon while taking my dog rollerblading just after moving to Orlando, low and behold a mile from my college condo is a stable. And so it begins...again!
I rode at football games and special events as the mascot. I worked for a few dressage and jumper instructors in central Florida. I was the captain of the dressage team beating most of the big colleges (Auburn, FSU, UF, UGA, UM and many more) during dressage competitions. I rode 5 horses a day (of all levels), managed the stables (up to 20 horses at times and during numerous hurricanes), teaching beginner students and had a number of green horses in training for a handful of clients that had a little more horse than they could handle.
Then finally it happened when I was 22yo. I got my very OWN horse, a 2yo thoroughbred/Clydesdale cross that I named Bella Luna! Now she is 21 and she is EVERYTHING!! She is my heart!! She helps me FLY! She loves to jump, entertains me when I push her with some dressage and is the absolute best teacher. Being her mom is my greatest accomplishment. She makes my heart skip a beat every time I put a new rider on her. She just takes care of them and I am in awe of her patience.
I have since expanded my family and now have USS Kitty Hawk (aka Miss Kitty) & Storm’s Appeal (aka Cloudy). They have both grown into lovely teachers themselves.
At the end of 2020, I decided I have way too much to give as a riding instructor. I went all in, I started teaching and doing horse/animal care full time. This would turn into one of the most challenging yet rewarding decisions of my life. My main focus is horsemanship & English riding, the basics of dressage and for the daredevils…jumping! To help people grow in understanding and become better horse people was definitely my calling in life. I LOVE IT!!! I work daily to become a better version of me for my students and horses.
