Camp Life on the Casco

I expected a few people would balk when they learned of our half-baked plans to travel, sail and write. We had no schedule beyond spending the first three weeks at Wolfe’s Neck Oceanfront Campground on the Casco Bay in Maine, limited sailing experience, and who doesn’t think they’re going to write a book some day? But instead of telling us we’re crazy old people for leaving the familiar comfort of our farm life on Thompson Hill, we’ve been met with unfailing enthusiasm and helpful recommendations....

Trading Signs: Hitting the Road

The signs kept popping up. It started with COVID. Not the virus itself, horrific as it was. The problem for us came when meat producers in the Midwest were forced to look for processors farther afield as sickness and restrictions hobbled the plants.
