As a dragon fruit hybridizer, the most fascinating part isn’t harvesting the fruit, but living in the unknown. When the sun sets and night falls, many people are winding down their day, but for dragon fruit, that’s when the real work begins. During bloom season, staying up past midnight for hand pollination is almost routine.
After years of waiting for this “Connie Mayer × Tricia” seedling, the first flower bud finally appears, yet even then, there is no way to know what color the flower will be, or what the skin and flesh of the fruit will eventually become. Happy Growing, Cheers! 🥂🌸
