Eder Showpigs Doing what it takes. Making our best better. Sharing what we learn. Coming soon: "The Quad Squad" Welcome to Eder Showpigs.

We are a small operation in Nortonville, KS that believes that making the best better isn't just a motto-it is a way of life. Our breeding program is centered on females that are geared for the production of wide based, sound-structured show prospects that offer the look the winners circle demands. We have dark and light crossbred prospects available every spring and fall.

It’s a showpig pageβ€” but if you or someone you know has some cattle they need to protect from πŸͺ›πŸ› , our dog doctor has some words. Texas and her neighbors are on our mind and in our prayers. Goes without sayingβ€” keep your dogs on their flea and tick tablets.

We don’t breed summer litters to fill barns.

We breed summer litters with intention.

Each mating represents a deliberate decision to amplify the elite individuals within the sow families that drive our program’s genetic engine. These are the females we believe can move a program forwardβ€”not just for one show season, but for generations.

That’s what makes us excited about this summer set.

Featuring Sixty-Six Ventures sires Low Key, Unforgettable, and Ol Boy, and Premium Blend Genetics Relentless β€”backed by sow lines that include a 30th Overall Commercial Gilt at OYE 2024, a 4th Overall Division 1 female at OYE 2023, and a favorite daughter of Wild Time out of the living legend littermate sister to End Game.

Due late June and mid-July.

We believe the future of a breeding program is built through intentional selection and disciplined investment in great livestock.

We invite you to be part of that journey.

If you’ve spent much time with Dr. Jett Eder Veterinary Enterprises, LLC, you’ll learn pretty quick that there are specific ways that pigs move that make him excited.

And there are a lot of ways that pigs move that can make him irritated.

Well, he got a little excited. To be clearβ€”this two dose semen acquisition was an impulse buy. Thanks showpig.com, you win. Also thanks Kenny Sullivan for feeding the darkness within.
But the morning after, we aren’t feeling remorse.
Because sometimes, if you’ve got the right femalesβ€” the most expensive thing you can do is not invest in your program’s future.

Weigh your late July county fair pigs this week. If they are less than 150 lbsβ€” Houston, we have a problem.
But also, Houston, we might have time to fix it.
Act NOW.

Watching OYE 2026, it felt impossible not to notice the influence of sires like Relentless, Mainline, and Dog Eat Dog behind many of the standout gilts in the ring.

That only added to our anticipation of the Premium Blend Genetics Dog Eat Dog pairing with our cornerstone matriarch.

β€œTina” β€” our Fastlane x Never Before x Best Man female raised by Coulson Showpigs and purchased in the Night of Stars sale after her 30th Overall Commercial Gilt finish at OYE 2024 β€” continues to prove why elite sow power from gilts that can compete in the ring still matters.

Congratulations to Kate Heikes and Heikes Girls Show Team on a strong weekend at the
πŸ“Cornhusker Classic β€” Wahoo, Nebraska

Day 1
πŸ₯‰ 3rd Dark Cross Gilt
⭐️ 5th Overall Breeding Gilt

Day 2
πŸ₯ˆ Reserve Dark Cross Gilt
πŸ₯‰ 3rd Overall Breeding Gilt

This was this gilt’s first major outing, and one that means a lot to our program. She patterns the mold we hoped for when we lined up her mother in August.

She reads like the kind you build around.

Tina currently carries a set of Relentless babies due mid-July β€” and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

πŸ”₯ That’ll do Tina. That will do.

Mountain Time Showdown

Wallace County holds a special place in our family story.

Long before Eder Showpigs existed as it does today, Sharon Springs and the Wallace County Fairgrounds were where all four Eder kids walked into the ring for their final county fair shows. A lot of laughs, lessons, tears, memories, friendships, wins, losses, and life moments were built in those barns.

That is why supporting the swine show at the inaugural Mountain Time Showdown means so much to us.

We are honored to serve as the Swine Show Sponsor and to reinvest into the same community that invested so much into our family over the years.

Good stock shows do more than hand out banners. They build confidence, work ethic, resilience, friendships, and passion for agriculture. Rural communities willing to create opportunities for young exhibitors deserve support.

We are proud to play a small role in helping this event get started and hope families from all over the region come support it.

Mark your calendars for June 13th & 14th at the Wallace County Fairgrounds.
Entries open May 1st on the Showman App.

Come make your best better in Sharon Springs, KS.

Feeds are flooded with the latest wins.

It’s easy to feel pressure to peak right now.
We all want curb appeal.

But not every champion is built for spring.
Some goals are bigger than May.

Stay true to the plan.
Goals matter.
Effort matters.
Consistency matters most when the banners aren’t coming yet.

The best ones are built at homeβ€”one lap, one feeding, one day at a time.

Do the yard work.

Feedback is a critical component of keeping your project on trackβ€”and the high-quality cameras we have on our phones create a tremendous opportunity for sharing your project’s progress.

But one of the biggest separators between those who improve…
…and those who become frustrated with poor feedback…

is the quality of information they provide when asking for help.

If you want meaningful feedback on a pigβ€”
whether from a breeder, fitter, feeder, veterinarian, older sibling, or mentorβ€”
it is critical to present the whole picture.

Because evaluation without context requires guessing.
And a guess is not good enough.

🍽️ π—”π—£π—£π—˜π—§π—œπ—§π—˜
This is one of the most important pieces of context there is.
A skinny pig aggressively hunting feed is a completely different situation than a skinny pig refusing to clean up.
Those pigs do not get managed the same way.
And they should not receive the same advice.

🧠 𝗠𝗒𝗦𝗧 π—œπ— π—£π—’π—₯𝗧𝗔𝗑𝗧:
Tell your mentor what YOU think needs to change.

Do they need more shape?
Move more comfortably?
Too skinny?
More growth?
More rib and body?

Learning to evaluate your own livestock is part of becoming a better stockman.

Showing pigs takes a villageβ€”but the quality of communication will often dictate the quality of help you receive when there are limitations to boots-on-the-ground assistance.

Ask the questions that can get the answers that make a difference.
Context keeps hammers out the ditches. πŸ”¨
