Leave it to me to drop and break some super rare breed hatching eggs... 😭
My husband was even crying.

Can anyone guess what they were?

Motherhood at 39 hits a little different… less “what am I doing?” and more “okay, I still don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m okay with it.....kinda....not really.” 😅

Watching Luna grow up day to day here has been pure magic. She’s completely mesmerized with the animals—like, full-on reality TV level invested. Every day she’s at the window, checking in on everyone like she’s managing the place.

And honestly? Same, girl.

There’s something so grounding about raising a baby this later in age. The slow days, the sounds of the animals, the quiet moments where we just sit and watch the world together… and then the not-so-quiet moments where I’m running on iced green teas (because I can't handle the heat) and constantly adding to the farm chaos.

Motherhood isn’t easier this time—it’s just deeper, a little wiser, and definitely more “go with the flow” (because what’s the alternative, really?).

For now, I’m just over here soaking it all in… and taking notes from Luna on how to fully enjoy the simple things. 🌿

Meanwhile at Luna Isla Homestead...

🐣🌱
We’re heading into our micro hatchery era — some purebreds + fun layers + lots of tiny fluff.

Featuring:
• Ayam Cemani (all black, a little dramatic)
• Dark Marans (hello chocolate eggs)
• Speckles, because obviously

If it lays a pretty egg… we’re into it.

At the same time… the garden is making a comeback. After two years of being ruthlessly “taste-tested” by both our own animals and the local wildlife (honestly, everyone but us was getting fed), we’re reclaiming it.

2026 mood:
🐥 cute chicks, prettier eggs
🌿 maybe vegetables for humans
🐐 goats staying put...

Stay tuned — it’s going to be a good (and slightly chaotic) season.

It's been a super quiet year around these parts, and if you've been paying attention, you've probably noticed we've been MIA—but don't worry, we haven't been kidnapped by aliens... just sleep-deprived from having a new baby, Luna!

And honestly, I've never been the social media person, and over the past year, my time and heart have been consumed by diaper changes and late-night partying with a spicy baby. In between the clingy baby clinging, I've been able to spend the littlest bits of time and connect with the most amazing friends and farmers one could ask for.

I must say, life on a homestead is like a bad joke—when you want to slow down, it says no, and gives you a million tasks to do. We've been doing just that, and it's been a wild ride full of growth, challenges, some disappointments and celebratory moments.

You might notice a new name on the signpost—Two Ace Farm got a makeover, and Luna Isla Homestead is the new kid on the block. It's all about aligning our hearts and homestead vibes, and we're excited to share more of our daily escapades, lessons learned the hard way, and tiny moments of pure joy. It won't be perfect, but it'll be real, and we're glad you're along for the ride.

Honestly thankful he likes our new puppy cat…. She acts like a dog! This barn kitten cracks us up.

Meet 'Trouble', because he looks like a Tribble. I am SO excited for him to part of our little family farm.
