A STATE "Community Greenhouse" grant of $15,000 has been awarded to the Oxford Hills Community Gardens in Norway. The grant is part of a half million dollar grant program from the state Department of Agriculture to support the purchase and construction of permanent greenhouses. Grant recipients were chosen on the basis of their increasing local food production and access, expanding agricultural and nutrition education, fostering partnerships among schools, nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations, and creating resources that last beyond the grant period. Oxford Hills Community Gardens, also known as the Alan Day Community Garden, is a 15 year old non-profit located on Whitman Street that offers garden plots, a community kitchen, workshops, a farmer's market and seasonal vegetable share programs.

The whirlwind of summer calms. Those cool nights have been slowly creeping in and reminding us that harvest season is close. To try and fill some of the void left by the closing of our closest tagging station, we will offer game registration to our customers. Allowing for a more timely and convenient trip from the woods to the cooler and therefore a greater yield and quality of meat. We will post of daily availability but our parking and staff are limited so we will remain by appointment only. We’ve got a few more new offerings and announcements in the works. Stay tuned and happy hunting!

🐾 1,725 Days. 💔

Someone is missing out on an absolutely incredible dog.

Lucy has officially been with us for 1,725 days waiting for a family of her own. That’s nearly 5 years of watching other dogs come and go while she continues to wait.

And honestly? We don’t understand why.

Lucy is funny, loyal, affectionate, adventurous, and absolutely adores people. She loves car rides, hikes, walks, toys, and spending time with her favorite humans. When she’s not out exploring, she’s happy to curl up nearby and soak up all the love she can get.

At nearly 7 years old, Lucy still has plenty of life, love, and adventure left to share. She deserves more than a kennel. She deserves a couch, a family, and a place to finally call home.
