Thanks to Pascal Reynaud we had a memorable dinner at our rented space in Provence. I wish you could taste each course. Each bite was a gift, every ingredient was intentional to make the perfect bite. It was a well choreographed- expertly cooked special dinner experience. The six of us kept saying “can you believe how lucky we are?”. Luck - and decades of hard work — all worth it.

Today started out at Foire de Chatou - a legendary market that only happens 2x per year! I had wanted to go since I owned Olivia Browning; maybe good I didn’t make it?! I didn’t take tons of photos bc I wanted to soak it in. So many amazing things - but particularly furniture and art, silver and dishes. Clearly, I don’t need! 😉The garden planters were amazing….Then off to the 6th arr. to run some errands and window shop in some of my fav design spots. Sauntered past my spice shop, will return before we leave — and sat for a few hours having a cheesy snack (ha! French butter and truffle cheese may not be appropriate- but spread together on a chewy baguette 🥖? 💯. I’m ending my day with a simple Cacio e Pepe as I wanted a simple dish - and there was a sweet little italian spot by my hotel. **The ladies at the French Pharmacy were impressed with my product knowledge MBG IYKYK! More tomorrow from Marseille - as I begin my adventure/residence/retreat in Provence.

I first came to Paris in 1997. On one of the hottest nights in August - My sister Liz and BIL and I ate at Maxims - and drank Ch*****ne under the Eiffel Tower - and stayed out until 5am or so 😉. It was perfection. I came again with another sister, and Liz, and a friend and on and on and on! Different groups and different sisters and friends (Megan!) and lots of clients. Richard brought me back here before I went to meet his Mom - and I experienced her “drunk in love”. Long dinners, long walks, bisou bisou — you get it! I’ve been with our girls 💕and that’s perfect, too.💕. Paris never disappoints - but neither does Les Deux Magots. So many memories here. I could, today, go anywhere in Paris for lunch — but my heart and soul chose Les Deux. So many fun meals - amazing service - the best Chèvre Salad. I feel my Dad and Mimi here. I can hear my Mom telling me to read Hemingway on the plane. I know my young self is so happy that I keep returning. This old girl is on a journey. I am listening to the signals. I am evolving to make Cooking with Abby - better. Join me on my exploration the next few weeks. Maybe I’ll find a piece of me I don’t know yet — and maybe, I’ll find things and ingredients to share. Headed to a very special retreat on Monday. But…today, tonight and tomorrow, (Sunday travel to Marseille) the city of lights is my playground. I am acutely aware of how grateful I feel.

It is perfect advice! Julia is my idol in all things culinary along with Jacques Pepin Jacques Pépin Foundation. I am prepping for my retreat La Gonette and a few weeks in France to learn, to grow, and to bring back new things to my South Shore community. Follow me on my journey the next few weeks as I embark on a trip of pure exploration and discovery! Paris - Marseille - AIX - Lyon and Paris, again. Next week is a deep dive into all things Provence: Rotonde, a medieval village in the Alpes-de-Haute. Provence department within the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southern France.

I will carry you all with me as I learn new things and do new things and also share my expertise with others in a magical place.

Travel with me as I embark on a mission to also create the perfect trip for you. Richard and friends will join me after La Gonette and we will be adding towns and routes and restaurants and biking adventures and more to our itineraries.

Megan TravelwithAbbyandMegan was over in France last month too. LOTS of research for 2027.

D’ici mon retour, prenez soin de vous, cuisinez bien et suivez-moi en France !
