Yesterday as I was mowing the perimeter of a field so I could put up temporary electric netting fence, this little guy/girl was hiding in the grass. I’m so glad I saw it!

Their instinct is to lay quiet and low to hide from predators - if I had been 2 feet further to the left, I’d have been really, really sad. 😢Probably less than 2 days old.

Can you feel the excitement of the start of summer farmers’ markets? I can!

This Saturday from 9 to noon is the first Oxford Farmers' Market of the season in Lafayette Park. I’ll be there with an assortment of grassfed and finished lamb and beef, raw wool for your garden mulching needs, and my new(ish) tallow-based hand creams.

If you haven’t tried the hand creams yet, stop by for a sample to see how soft they make your skin feel! I even have a new limited edition one for the gardeners out there 🌷🪱🪻

I saw a rainbow on my way to the barn this morning, and took it as a sign that today I would be done with lambing.

It took her all day to finally go into active labor, but when Velveeta delivered a huge ram lamb tonight, I understood why. And lambing 2026 is done!

Lambing season started today with two first-time moms - Mustard and Lilac! It was a long day of waiting, because first-timers have a longer pre-labor and active labor, plus they both had twins that showed up quite a bit later than their older sibling.

Dinner was spaghetti-o’s with meatballs, and a beer - I had no energy to cook, plus I deserve to eat crappy food once in a while!
