OMG; the Optima 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley is so good , it's wonderful- so smooth, rich with a deep dense depth of burgundy color ,flavors of dried cocoa and dark chocolate, hints of dark berries, slight pencil lead & sweet vanilla ending in a lush mid palate that's complex and pleasing on the taste buds. For $30.00 it's a steal ! Small production: hillside vineyard- 1.5 tons per acre; concentrated flavors- tiny sized berries,only French oak barrels used; 1/4 new, 1/4-1 to 3 yrs old, & 1/4 old over 3 yrs.old..Outstanding !
