🍞 😊 💕
Proud bread moment here. I started my sourdough starter a little over a year ago. I’ve made many a tasty treat but never a fully successful loaf of sourdough.
Until today… 🚌 I was on the struggle bus yesterday with my mixing and stretch & folds. No matter how long it sat there it wouldn’t rise. I was about ready to give up.
💡 finally I put her in the oven with the light on and just let her rest. Turns out my bread just needed what every mom needs - to be left alone 😂.
🤩 She rose! She jiggled! I shaped her and put her in the fridge, said a prayer and went to bed. This morning I spoke kindly to her and just said “please work” and popped her in the oven.
🙌🫶🏻👏🏻 praise be!!! Perfection. I have never been so pleased!

🍪 😢
It’s hard not to get frustrated when you try a new recipe and it doesn’t turn out.
⭐️ I have a whole batch of rather expensive ingredients to make these cookies and they flop around like a 🐠 out of 💦

🧈 browned butter
🍞 sourdough discard
🍎 caramel apple sauce
🧁 brown sugar frosting

🍪 all of the delicious ingredients to make a delicious cookie that is SUPER ugly and falls apart. 👀
📕 back to the drawing board for round 2!
