Well that’s different… as the Minnesotans say. After last year’s hiatus, it’s not the garden like the past. It was only supposed to be a small row of beans and possibly a “few” peas to test things out. I’m trying out some new growing techniques. 2026 garden season started!

Sunchoke update. Well year one was a fun experiment. Soups, raw, air fried and baked- all a hit. Year 2? Well it looks like my original 8’ row has expanded tremendously and is already up and flourishing.

The quiet of a crisp spring morning is layered with the chorus of robins, red-wing blackbirds, and the call of a blue jay. Snow clings to tree branches with buds silently waiting for their cue to unfurl. Pops of color are soon to emerge from their winter slumber. But first, a flash of pure white that flags the start of something beautiful.

The gift that keeps on giving- all YEAR long. At one point in time we opted for a artificial tree and a few other fake fir decorations for the Christmas season. These little green buggers are my nemesis. Yes, we have a real one once live tree for the main Christmas tree too and stepping on a dried needle barefoot stinkin hurts (yes, I have bare feet at times in the winter months too)! But, the real pine needles don’t get static cling and are quickly vacuumed away. I seriously kept finding them till I dug out this years decorations as well! Arghhh of course, I’ve replenished next year’s frustration- err JOY a constant reminder of the reason for the season.
