As the temperatures and humidity continued rising, we finally got to Alpine show day(s). We were so happy with how our girls traveled and looked and were pleased with the placings.
Junior does:
Our first alpine doe to show was our Spotlight sale consignment, Harmody SMT Hatikva’s Misiba. She held her own placing 10th in a competitive class of intermediate kids - we are so excited for her and her new herd.
We brought one Alpine dry yearling, KC (Harmody HMT Annaliesa’s Key Change). She surprised us all when she won her class and even more when she went on to be named as the Alpine Junior National Champion.
Senior Does:
Harmody HBZ Harikva’s Kesita was the only milking yearling to make the trip with us. We were very excited when she placed 2nd! Kesita is a close copy of her dam, long, tall, and elegant, with a beautifully attached mammary system.
We had two 2 year old milkers shown, GCH Harmody HAF Prelude and Harmody M Tirza’s Yakira. Prelude is a strong, stylish doe who combines a well attached mammary system with extreme correctness of general appearance. We were so excited when she placed 1st with 2nd udder!! Yakira did well, placing 10th. Yakira is our only milking Tirza daughter and reminds us so much of her dam, a large bodied doe who is smoothly blended with a smooth foreudder and high, wide rear udder.
GCH Harmody OCT Encore’s Ovation was our 3 year old milker who decided not to make milk the day of the show. She is a very dairy doe with impressive foreudder attachment. She placed 16th.
We showed the most does in the 4 year old class: GCH Harmody OCT Zamara’s Hatikva, GCH Harmody OCT Ziva’s Aliza, and GCH Redwood Hills Beau Favor. With a rough kidding experience, Hatikva traveled amazingly well, eating everything she was handed and actually gaining weight despite the number of miles traveled and high heat index. Aliza is Hatikva’s paternal half-sister, a more refined version of Hatikva who has the nickname “pony”. We were so excited when Favor freshened this year after a year off in 2025. She has a long, level top line, correct front end, and a very capacious udder. Hatikva was 3rd, Favor 5th and Aliza 9th.
Our last Alpine milker to show was GCH Harmody RHRF Reggae’s Sequel. 5 years old this year, Sequel was originally on our sales list, but we were really happy to get to keep her after the buyer backed out. Sequel is a wide, deep doe with a beautifully shaped mammary system. She placed 12th.
