A lot of work goes into getting The Ole Mill Yard cleaned up and ready for the future. Some jobs are fun, some are dirty, and some are just plain hard work—but they all have to get done!

You never know what you’re going to find when you start cleaning up an old property!

While cleaning up around The Ole Mill Yard, we came across this old Christmas tree ornament.

It makes you wonder how long it’s been here and what Christmas tree it once hung on. There’s just something special about finding little pieces of the past like this while we’re working to bring this place back to life.

Another productive day at The Ole Mill Yard!

We hauled off over 30,000 lbs of debris to the landfill and spent the day spreading dolomite in one of the fields.

This weekend we had the opportunity to attend the Georgia Christmas Tree Growers Association meeting at Skipper Family Farms.

It was a great opportunity to spend time with other Christmas tree growers, see how other farms operate, learn new ideas, and talk about everything that goes into growing a quality Christmas tree.

Every time we attend one of these meetings, we come home with more knowledge, more ideas, and even more excitement about what we’re building here at The Ole Mill Yard.

We may still be a few years away from having our own trees ready, but we’re putting in the work now to make sure we’re ready when that time comes.

A big thank you to Skipper Family Farms for hosting and to all the growers who were willing to share their knowledge and experience.

We’ve been busy! Between cleaning up the property, tearing down an old house, and traveling to Christmas tree growers conferences to learn as much as we can, we’ll admit it… we got a little behind on the trees.

But we’re catching back up!

We’ve been spending some time getting the grass and weeds cleaned up around the young trees and giving them the attention they deserve.

It may not look like a huge transformation yet, but around here, every little bit of progress counts. These little trees have a long way to go, but we’re excited to watch them grow!

Who says you need snow to start getting in the Christmas spirit?

Here in North Florida, Christmas looks a little different… pine trees, Spanish moss, old barns, dirt roads, and maybe a little sunshine mixed in with our holiday spirit!

The countdown is officially on — 124 days to go!

We’re getting closer every day to another Christmas season at The Ole Mill Yard.

BREAKING NEWS: The forklift has officially been evicted 🚜😂

This thing has been sitting here so long we were about ready to start charging it rent… or decorating it for Christmas 🎄

But we finally moved it out of the way, which means we’ve got more room for trees next year!

Only problem now… we actually have to plant them 😅

Be honest—how long do you think it’ll take us to fill this spot?
