Hey Tallow-tilla Family!
First off, we want to sincerely apologize for being so quiet lately. We know a lot of you have been wondering where we’ve been, why we haven't been out and about at our usual spots, and—most importantly—why you haven't been able to get your hands on our tortilla chips!
To be completely transparent with you all, we ran into a bit of a regulatory roadblock. We recently found out that under Wisconsin Cottage Food Law, we aren't actually permitted to produce and sell our chips the way we were doing. As a small business growing from the ground up, this was a tough learning experience, and it forced us to press pause on production. But we didn't stay down for long! 🚀
We are incredibly excited to share that we have officially submitted our application for a Retail Food Establishment License! This is a massive milestone for us. Once approved, this transition means three huge things for Tallow-tilla:
1️⃣ We’ll be back at your favorite local farmers markets! 🎪
2️⃣ We can officially start selling our chips in stores!🛒
3️⃣ We will be able to ship and sell anywhere in the entire country! 🇺🇸✈️
We went from a minor setback to opening the door for nationwide crunching. We cannot thank you enough for your patience, your messages checking in on us, and your incredible support as we navigate these growing pains.
