Well folks, about a week ago the owners of this farm informed us that in fact we were not in a rent to own contract with them and that the almost 30,000 dollars we have given them over the last three years was actually just rent even though we were led to believe it was going towards the purchase. We are pretty devastated, but starting to regroup and figure out our next move. Continuing to rent here is apparently not an option due to the fact of the roof needing repair to the point of black mold growing in the kitchen cabinets. We asked the owners if that was something covered by the homeowners insurance, they sent out an adjuster who determined that they would not replace the roof and in fact the kitchen will need to be gutted and the whole roof replaced. Thats when she told us they were going to just condemn the house. A lot of people warned us not to trust this situation but we went for it because this place is so special to us, we have put our heart and soul into it. We are heartsick to share the news, especially with those of you who have been so supportive in following our journey here. Even though the location will change Full Circle Feather Farm will be coming with us! We are currently looking for property suited for transferring the coop construction, chickens and garden to. We are so so sad to be forced out of this property that has taught us so much and where our dreams have been being built but we are determined to continue with our vision. - TR, Margaret & Ruby Jean
