Some cows are part of the herd. And then there is the one who started the story.

Google was the cow who started it all, the very first cow here and, without question, the Queen of the Farm. 👑🐄

She had an attitude bigger than she was…and she was BIG. She knew exactly who she was, and she made sure everyone else knew it too. She was tough, stubborn, full of personality, and a fighter right until the very end.

The farm just won’t feel the same without her.

Rest easy, Queen Google. You earned it. I love you, sweet girl. I miss you already. Until we meet again. 🌾

One of my friends, who owns/operates another raw milk dairy here in Missouri, came down today to pick up a show heifer for her son’s summer show string. While here they decided to also take a little bull calf from my favorite cow family to use as a potential cleanup bull.
While mom got ready to pay, the kids ran to the truck to get their money to pay for the calves. The little girl claimed the baby bull as her calf and brought me a quarter and a dime in a paperclip to pay for him. She confidently handed me the coins in her fancy money clip and we shook on it. The boy, a few years older and more up to date on cattle prices, paid me $2 for his calf. It was my favorite thing ever. Mom paid the difference but I probably would have let these two get away with it anyway if she hadn’t. 🤣 Made my day.
