Hunters Moon Farm Whidbey Island Organic Blueberry Farm; U-pick Blueberries

935 Bunch Ln, Oak Harbor, Washington 9827 This is our first year on Whidbey Island.

Using organic and biodynamic management principles, we believe in the importance of “all things in balance,” growing in a way that results in healthy soil, healthy plants and nutritionally dense food. Presently, we grow 3 varieties of late season blueberries and also sell blueberry honey produced from the bees that pollinate our bushes. Over the next few years, we plan on diversifying what we grow

and expanding our range of value added products. Also important to us are issues of food security, locally and globally. This year we have committed to donating a percentage of the profits from our farm to support small farmers in Haiti. As we become familiar with the Whidbey Island community, we will extend our support to local projects and activities. After living on the north island of New Zealand for the past several years, we are transitioning back to the Pacific NW to be closer to family. In New Zealand we grew feijoas (pineapple guava), strawberries, and quinoa and prior to that we operated a vegetable CSA in Moscow, Idaho. This farm on Whidbey is a new adventure for us since this is our first time growing blueberries. Another first is that Hal has retired from teaching at university and will be working full time on the farm.
