Maybe you’re new to this lifestyle, or maybe you’re quite seasoned with it. Wherever you are on your homesteading journey, I hope you never take for granted the little things in the ordinary days.
Photography is my thing, so I capture those moments to keep forever. But if you do nothing else, just pause and take them in.
The way the sunset makes flowers more vibrant.
Warm eggs from the nest boxes.
Cows that just wanna lick your hand (sometimes your face).
A rusty bucket with just picked blooms.
Chickens finding the worms.
Jumping goats.
A pig in the mud.
Your horse breathing on your cheek.
The cows and goats with full bellies, so they just sit in the shade and chew their cud.
Seeds just emerging from the dirt.
The first picked tomato.
The golden sunset hour.
Warm bread with a slab of butter.
Coffee on chilly mornings.
The pop of sealing mason jars.
Nothing outstanding, just the little things.
Homesteading definitely has a romance to it, and I pray we never get so goal driven, busy, or hurried that we miss the beauty this life offers daily.
It’s there….so don’t miss it.
