Tracy Creek Farm

Tracy Creek Farm We are a small farm with the intention of being self sustainable and helping others to do the same.

Our classic hereford cows and red wattle pigs are raised humanely, with no hormones or steroids. They roam freely outside in green pastures with clean air, springs and a creek for water.

Had to cut about 3 inches off of her left horn. It had curled down and putting pressure on her skull. That’s a first. Definitely a 2 man job. Thanks to the young man who gave me a hand getting her into the squeeze chute and securing her head.?

The garden is mostly in. We’ll start picking the winter onions. A bumper crop of asparagus. Got the water to the fruit and nut trees today.

Butchering takes help. Making it mostly into burger. The best burger you’ll ever eat. Probably 90-10.

When I found out I was going to have surgery in May, I decided not to put a garden in this year. Avelina and Kristen asked if they could, back in February. Look what they have done. Not only did they put the main garden in, but they put another one and are planting squash, melons in holes that were prepared for more trees in the orchard. Now we’re trying to figure out what to do with the over abundance. It’s really going to help cut my feed bill.

Capers are a staple of our home cooking, and we eat them enough that I decided to learn how to grow them myself.  I was disappointed to learn that they need a long growing season
