Iowa State Fair is officially in the books, and we’re heading home pretty dang pleased with how our crew did. 🖤🐑

We brought 7 head total, and while we didn’t come chasing banners, we’re proud of how they represented our program and what they are.

✨ 6th Place Yearling Ewe
✨ 5th Place February Ram Lamb

One of the more entertaining moments of the day came in the yearling ewe class. 😂 We started out in 10th… then the judge moved us to 8th… and then decided to move us again into 6th.

At that point we were thinking maybe we should just sneak into the Top 5 lineup so he could take one more look. 😂 We definitely weren’t complaining!

Another really rewarding part of the trip was getting to see sheep we’ve sold throughout the last year and this year out in the show ring with their new breeders. There’s something pretty special about watching animals raised in your barn go on and do well for someone else. That’s a win in itself.

Overall, we’re proud of the sheep we brought, grateful for the opportunity to get them out, and happy with how they stacked up.

Now there’s just one stop left on our summer show run…

📍 South Dakota State Fair — we’ll see you soon! 🐑

After a couple of years of not being present at the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen SD, we were able to show our sheep ourselves. It sure was fun to be back! We had a good show resulting in Grand Champion Ram and Reserve Ram, Grand Champion Ewe. Our ewe moved on to the Supreme Champion Class and we are excited to tell you that our name will once again go on the Supreme Champion Ewe trophy. A big thank you to the judge Brooke Hendricks and to everyone that help us present our flock for her viewing. Next stop...Iowa State Fair!
