We found this turkey clutch while out free-ranging today— tucked away like nature and mama hen had planned it all along.
This is what free-ranging really looks like on a working homestead: not everything happens in a barn or a schedule. The birds choose their own rhythm, find their own nesting spots, and sometimes you stumble across little reminders that they’re doing exactly what instinct tells them to do.
No lights. No confinement. Just open land, brush, and the quiet work of raising the next generation.
It’s moments like this that make the extra walking, checking, and patience worth it.
