This special softener is used for softening the hardest water. Many people have never heard of this type of softener. It features continuous soft water, 24 hours a day. It always has one softening tank in service and one softening tank on standby . When the tank in service becomes full and needs to regenerate, the tank on standby immediately goes into service; and the tank in service immediately goes to standby and gets regenerated. This kind of softener can regenerate itself over 5 or 6 times a day if ever needed. It is mostly used by restaurants, laundries, hotels and larger homes. JOE STERN CLEANS UP GALLERY ROW

Oakhurst’s center for its foremost Artists, GALLERY ROW, had developed elevated levels of a harmful contaminant in their drinking water. They called Joe Stern Water for help. Working with Madera County Health Department, Joe recommended a “Point Of Use” solution, also known as POU.

The treatment method of “Point of Use” (POU) was recently approved by the State and Madera County for use on Public Water Systems. With POU, instead of installing one large filter at the water’s well, smaller filters would be installed at each drinking water tap. POU would use much less water; because only the drinking water would be treated. The water used for landscaping, cleaning and washing would not be treated. POU also would use much less water on the filters’ discharge of waste water.

This is a new thing from the County. We welcome it because it allows a much more economical and environmental method for removing harmful contaminants from drinking water.

The Positive Living Center in Oakhurst was concerned about the taste and health of their drinking water. I had attended their church in the past and I really liked the people there. This FLECK 9100 Commercial Softener is used in hotels, laundries, large restaurants and sometimes homes with extremely hard water. It has two softening tanks instead of only one. While one tank is in service (softening); the other tank is on stand-by. When the tank in service is depleted and ready for regeneration, the reserve tank automatically and instantly goes into service. The depleted tank then is regenerated and put on stand-by. This process repeats itself all day if needed. A regular softener can only regenerate once a day. This one can regenerate 6 or 7 times a day if ever needed.
