Missing the days when I could just harvest Fuyu Persimmons from my own garden 🌳although the first year the squirrels beat me to it 🐿️
It certainly couldn't get more "slow food" than that!

These treats are like putting a persimmon explosion in your mouth. The flavor is just amazing. I love how Yami Yami is able to make candy out of my favorite fruits, and they are so, so delicious.

🍐 Warren Pears 🍐
Oh so juicy, so flavorful, so delicious!

I can't believe I discovered this variety of pear until recently! My wish to offer a Pear + Ginger pâte de fruit after recipe testing with other varieties (with disappointment) aligned with seeing these beauties in a post back in September just moments before my neighbor Sammie left some at my door to try.
I think the universe was trying to guide me on the right path because it was love at first bite — I never had a pear with such an intense flavor!

My intention was to "pear" them with Ginger but I was having a hard time finding local ginger until my friend Eric and macaron artist from told me about GG farms at the Ferry Building — which sells Young Ginger. It's less spicy than regular ginger so it offers a very subtle warmth intensifying the pear notes and resulting in a Pâte de Fruit that reminded me of eating a poached pear.

The best Warren Pears are organically grown by the in Oroville in sunny CA. They are also super nice people 😊

Hello everyone,

you may have noticed I've been absent from posting in the last 2 months, the truth is, I'm having a rough time living life as usual and my focus has shifted away. I'm having trouble sleeping, my appetite is slowly returning, and I can't stop myself from crying while I'm cooking— don't worry, your sweeties won't be extra seasoned with my tears. I'm sharing this not because I  believe I'm the victim here (I'm Arab, not Palestinian) but to let you know if you're feeling a similar way, you're not alone. Please, take care of yourself, we must keep up the fight!

I've debated if I should be doing this pop up or not given how brutal these last 2 weeks have been...but I'm grateful for for sharing their space with me. The best I can do is a donation, and hopefully I can make it to the protest after it.

🍂POP UP WEEKEND🍂

🥃🍎Apple + Rye Whiskey 🍎🥃

One of our coziest flavors is back! This year I'm cooking these sweeties with dry-farmed Jonathan Apples from instead of Sommerfeld Fuji 🍏My first test batch showed that Jonathan apples have more natural occurring pectin than Sommerfelds—it was hard to reach the appropriate temperature because it got too thick too soon in the pot, and it was even harder to pour it into the molds, half of the batch set inside the funnel too! The texture didn't feel right either, it was too dense. For the second test batch I reduced the pectin around 30% and that seemed to be the right amount, resulting in a succulent texture 😊

And no, in case you were wondering, the booze stays the same because we love Rye Whiskey so much! 🥃
