Check out Valais Blacknose Sheep of Washington State online sale May 12!
Introducing The RRamblin Man 🤩🤍🖤🤍🤩…Karen Roberson of Oregon Valais and us not only have decades of raising sheep, but have deep roots in the club lamb-wether sire/dams. This experience and knowledge has resulted in many discussions of the desire to breed better Valais from a structure, function, health/hardiness, and dual purpose standpoint that is expected in the USA sheep production—we want more than a cute face and swooshing fluffy fleece. Karen had fullblood ewes that not only structurally looked great, but had proven themselves as excellent mothers with milk and mothering ability. I had semen at RSG from some unique UK genetics that had proved themselves…RSG was doing haul-in AI in southern Oregon, so we partnered to create a new genetic line for our flocks. We got two exception lambs and have really liked how they are growing out. We will be using The RRamblin Man and Oregon Valais will be using The RRambler for fall lambs. In addition to strong structure, markings and wool, both these guys are showing great fertility at 7 months of age. Goal is to collect The RRamblin Man in June…if collection goes according to plan, anyone that purchases ewe lambs in our online sale or Reno will receive a complimentary straw of semen of rams we have stored at WSU or RSG…and if we have RRamblin Man in our tank, buyers are welcome to a straw of this new exciting new stud. Note—Ram was slick sheared first part of February…this is RRamblin in his working cloths.
