Head Brewer & Lead Brewer, Lukas & Thomas, had the amazing opportunity to visit Hollingbery & Son Hops (Hollingbery & Son Hops ) over in Yakima, Washington for Hops Selection 2026 for the very first time! For those unfamiliar with Hops Selections, (like me, before this trip!) it’s a seasonal period of the year where brewers from all over the world get the chance to personally evaluate, smell, and hand-select specific lots of harvested hops directly from the source. Lukas describes and compares the experience to chefs being able to hand select their ingredients at farmers markets!
Despite it being a short trip, it was a jam-packed, unforgettable experience for our two brewers! Lukas & Thomas shared the way this experience allowed them to meet like-minded, passionate brewers from near and far (some of which were familiar faces to the two!) that shared a deep dedication to quality, flavor, and consistency across every ale and l***r.
Together, Lukas & Thomas hand selected the following hops that would shape our brews over the coming year:
• Mosaic
• Citra
• Simcoe
• El Dorado
• Hallertau Mittlefruh
• Tangier
For Lukas & Thomas, this was a meaningful, magical, and motivating experience!
