A rare evening of classical music in the wild is coming to our own backyard.

1892 will be open from 2:00–4:00 p.m. before IN A LANDSCAPE at Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park. Doors at the park open at 4:00 p.m., and acclaimed pianist Hunter Noack will perform from 5:00–6:30 p.m.

Following the performance, 1892 will reopen from 6:30–9:30 p.m. Join us for a glass of w**e or a dram from our collection of 400 whiskies—the perfect ending to an extraordinary evening in Oakland.

Having experienced more than a dozen IN A LANDSCAPE performances throughout the Pacific Northwest, we can say firsthand that this is something truly special. As Hunter performs and the surrounding landscape becomes the concert hall, music and place come together in an unforgettable way.

THE REDBREAST CHALLENGE
Last weekend, one determined group came to 1892 and tasted its way through the entire WhistlePig flight. This weekend, the robin takes the vault.

We challenge another group to gather around the table and do a little damage to our complete REDBREAST flight: 12 distinctive expressions spanning the iconic 12 Year, rare cask editions, and the commanding 27 Year.

One table. Twelve expressions. One remarkable journey through Irish wh***ey.

Some traditions are worth an extra letter.

In Ireland, it is wh***ey-with an “e.” Both wh**ky and wh***ey descend from the Gaelic expression for “water of life,” but during the 19th century, Irish distillers began using the extra letter to distinguish their celebrated spirit from Scotch wh**ky. Over time, the “e” became a signature of Irish identity.
