Executive Chef Reign Free has been in the kitchen since she was nine, seated on a stool beside her mother cooking traditional West Indian dishes for her family. College took her from the Midwest to New Orleans’ Dillard University were she earned a degree in public health. As an Executive Chef her Caribbean roots join Creole, Pan-Asian menus and the best comfort food this side of your grandmother’s dining room table. As an entrepreneur and a graduate of The Women’s Initiative microenterprise program, Chef Reign continues to push the envelope of customer service, community consciousness and innovative cuisine. Her latest dining experience, 530: Casual. Clandestine. is a private supper club that extends The Red Door brand and further establishes her as one of the Bay area’s raising chefs. She is joined in this work by her husband Darryl and son Darren.

Some lessons extend far beyond the table. 🍽️

With college on the horizon, Reign and her dear friend Char brought their sons and a group of young men together at Two for an afternoon centered on etiquette, decorum, confidence, and how to carry yourself as you step into new spaces and experiences.

Guided by Rosalinda of Rosalinda Randall and paired with a four-course meal by The Red Door, it was an opportunity to learn, practice, ask questions, and build skills they’ll carry with them long after the table is cleared.

Because preparing the next generation for what’s ahead isn’t just about where they’re going—it’s about how they show up when they get there. ♥️
