Oakland United Beerworks is a collaborative gathering place where we unite and inspire our community

Oakland is and always has been a beer town; a place where hard-working people would gather together to enjoy locally brewed, fresh beer. As the local population grew, Oakland was affectionately referred to as the "Milwaukee of the West" for its numerous neighborhood-based breweries. Founded in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery, we became the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s. In 2017, following the sale of our building on Linden Street to a new developer, we moved our operations to the waterfront Jack London District and rebranded as Oakland United Beerworks. With the support of a team of dedicated Oakland craft beer enthusiasts, Oakland United is proud to continue the great beer brewing tradition in Oakland.

Our Migration West Coast IPA (7%) has landed back in the taproom! Hopped with Eclipse and Enigma, this returning favorite brings aromas of pineapple, black currant, grapefruit, cantaloupe, and apricot.

Inspired by the birds traveling the Pacific Flyway between Alaska and Patagonia each spring and fall, Migration celebrates a little Oakland magic: Lake Merritt’s role as a place to rest along the journey. Home to more than 100 types of birds throughout the year, our urban oasis deserves a toast.

For everyone who was super bummed when we sold out of Redwood Red Ale, the wait is officially over.

This malty, delicious 5.5% ABV red ale brings notes of cinnamon, licorice/anise, caramel, honey, grapefruit, and walnut. There's so much to love about this b**r.

Drumroll, please…We’ve got our next Lucky Dog!

Our team drew the big winner this morning! Congratulations to Caitlyn, whose pup will be the star of our next Lucky Dog Hazy IPA can, scheduled to release November 18!

We had SO much fun watching you all participate and drop those raffle tickets, and we were overwhelmed by the support. Thank you to everyone who joined in and gave their doggo a shot at can-cover fame!

And here’s a little teaser…we’re doing this again! Keep an eye out for our Q1 Lucky Dog raffle- your pup’s moment in the spotlight could be next!

We’ve teamed up with W**e & Design to bring another Paint & Sip night to the taproom where you’ll create your own Autumn Birch Tree painting. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just here for the vibes, their team will guide you step-by-step, making it easy (and fun) to bring your masterpiece to life.

All painting materials and instruction are included, just bring yourself, grab a drink, and unleash the artist within. We’re covering part of the cost to make this a super accessible night out, so tickets are just $20 per person.

FRESH HOP SEASON HAS ARRIVED!

There are few times of year that get brewers quite as excited as fresh hop season. And when you’re surrounded by so many incredible breweries in our little craft b**r hub here in Oakland, that excitement is pretty contagious.

This year, we were thrilled to get in on the action. Huge thanks to our friends at Original Pattern Brewing Co. for helping make it happen, and to the Bay Area Mashers crew who joined us for brew day!

We got our hands on some beautiful, freshly harvested Citra hops and wasted absolutely no time putting them to work. We even ran the fresh hops through a chipper before adding them to the b**r, breaking them open to get right at that glorious lupulin, the aromatic, flavor-packed goodness hiding inside the hop cone.

The result? Our Fresh Hop Pale Ale- an unfiltered, once-a-year b**r bursting with fresh hop character. Bright, green, aromatic, and about as close to the hop harvest as you can get in a pint.

And after a slight packaging delay, this b**r is NOW on draft in the taproom with 4-packs available in the taproom and our online store.

And if you really want to go all-in on fresh hop season, catch us Saturday, October 3rd at Original Pattern’s West Coast Wet Hop Harvest Fest! We’ll be there alongside a ton of breweries from up and down the West Coast, all pouring their fresh hop creations in one big celebration of the best time of year to be a hop lover.
