This cake had a little plot twist! It was initially planned for two celebrants, but plans changed, and we ended up celebrating one special birthday girl! She had up to 100 guests, so we kept the double cake design—just all about her. She adores unicorns, so we made it extra magical and added a sprinkle of her favorite characters. My customer originally requested non-edible character toppers for this cake, but one thing about me is that if I haven’t made a theme before, I almost always end up upgrading part of it into a fondant topper so I can challenge myself and get more practice. 🤗

For this one, I decided to make Bowser Jr. completely edible by hand, and honestly, I’m so glad I did! He definitely became the star of the cake. 😍

Sometimes the best way to learn is to just jump in and make it. Which Mario character is your favorite? 👀🍄⭐
