A Sauvignon Blanc Summer

Our Sauvignon Blanc is featured on our summer label.  Our summer label has a view looking out towards where the Sauvignon Blanc is actually grown. 

In terms of the story of Tench, the Sauvignon Blanc and the summer label is a nod to my childhood and having extended family here at the estate.

We chose to put the hot air balloon on the label, not only because we see hot air balloons coming up from Yountville every morning, but because when I think of the 'best of family' I think of whimsy and playfulness.

I wanted those feelings to be evoked when you look at the label, and when you taste our wine...

Our sincere thanks to the writers, storytellers, and thoughtful guests who have spent time with our Cabernet Sauvignon recently.  Hearing that our wine is meaningful to you is incredibly rewarding, but seeing you speak of the soil, our family and notice and highlight the artwork on the bottle has been a distinct joy.

There is a thoughtful story behind each label; that took generations of family cultivation, and years of shared sketchwork and creative collaborations for Rem and me to bring to life.

There are the Tench Estate labels, original pieces of artwork depicting different vineyard views across four seasons: Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring.

Then there is the intent behind each label which speak not just to how we live our lives in each season; profoundly connected to the cycle of the vineyard, but also to the chapters of our family's story here where we live, from my grandparents and parents, to us and our children.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look closely enough to see the whole Tench story from the soil and the people who work the land, to the artwork on our labels and the artful expression of our wine - and those who thoughtfully share that experience with others.

Introducing our Lilian John at Tench Estate

For those of you that have visited us at the estate you know of this wine and what it means to me.

Lilian John is our proprietary red wine.

It's the only wine that we name, and we named it after my grandparents, Lilian and John, and we love that we get to feature them on our Spring label, because truly, they're the *spring* of our story.

They're the ones who purchased this property in 1965, and we wouldn't be here without them, and it's so important to honor them in a meaningful way.

I have a favorite photo of them walking in the vineyard from my youth (the actual image shared within this video) that I asked the artist to include on the label--So we're always reminded of them, and we can always hold them in our hearts, and remember where we came from.
