Opus One 2006 is remarkably elegant and structured, with a core of red and black currant fruit framed by cedar and savory notes. Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon 77%, Merlot 12%, Cabernet Franc 5%, Petit Verdot 3%, and Malbec 3%, Vintage 2006 is persistently smooth through an expansive finish.

Some things are worth experiencing again for the first time. The Courtyard Tasting Room has been thoughtfully refreshed - its renewed interiors drawing from the colors of the land and sky. Ambers and golds capture the warmth of the sun, soft blues capture the open sky, and rich browns ground the space. Together, they create a sensory connection between the tasting experience and the landscape beyond.

An entry, replanted.

The enhanced entry, including our north and south berms and courtyard, has been replanted from grass to thousands of native and drought-tolerant species. Now, more than an acre of the Estate has been transformed into a thriving pollinator habitat, increasing biodiversity and reducing our irrigation needs significantly.

The transformation of the berms and courtyard reflects years of study and planning, culminating in a collaborative vision with landscape architects Reed Hilderbrand. A tranquil, biodiverse landscape now welcomes patrons and shapes the experience upon arrival. The planting patterns echo the contours of the backdrop offered by the Vaca Mountains.
