Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Tyler, Texas Complex HR Benefits team recently partnered with Christus Health and the Ross Breast Center to provide onsite breast cancer screenings for employees through the Ross Breast Center Mobile Mammography Unit.

By bringing the mobile unit onsite during the workday, employees had convenient access to this important preventive health service without having to miss work.

The event saw strong interest from employees, and the Ross Breast Center Mobile Mammography Unit will return to the complex on October 16, 2026, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The additional screening opportunity will give even more employees a chance to prioritize their health and take advantage of this convenient resource.

We are excited to share that Wayne-Sanderson Farms recently earned 18 safety awards at the annual National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to workplace health, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. In total, Wayne-Sanderson Farms secured eight Awards of Distinction, the highest commendation, along with eight Awards of Honor and two Awards of Merit across 18 feed mills, hatcheries, and processing plants.

Presented annually by the Joint Poultry Industry Safety & Health Council, the awards recognize facilities for exceptional safety performance and continued efforts to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses. Recipients are selected based on multi-year injury statistics and a review of their safety programs.

Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Kinston, North Carolina Complex recently hosted a Family Fun Day.

More than 200 employees and their families came together to enjoy a day of fun and connection. The celebration included a delicious meal featuring chicken and barbecue, along with bounce houses, cotton candy, bingo, and other family-friendly activities.

The event was a celebration of community, appreciation, teamwork, and family, and was a great opportunity to recognize the people who make our company amazing.

Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Dobson, NC Complex has instituted an employee-led vegetable garden, establishing a fresh-produce exchange program for team members across all shifts!

The initiative repurposes facility space and regional agricultural materials to provide free vegetables to employees. The garden was made possible by sourcing plants from local supplier Dobson Produce and soil from Mountain View Poultry, a local broiler farm. Additionally, metal stakes for the garden were reclaimed from the facility’s scrap yard.

The garden features 30 tomato plants alongside squash, zucchini, cucumbers, poblano peppers, bell peppers, jalapeños and Carolina Reapers. Wooden trellises are used to optimize growing space for climbing cucumber vines.

Harvested crops are shared in a rotating produce area in the breakroom, allowing employees across all three shifts to take fresh vegetables or share excess produce from their own home gardens.

The garden project combines sustainable land use, local agricultural partnerships, and workplace wellness by offering fresh food access across the facility’s workforce.

Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Decatur, Alabama Prepared Foods Complex recently held a Back-to-School Drive to help employees and local students prepare for the new school year.

This year, the team collected 140 backpacks, raffling 100 to employees to help with back-to-school needs and donating the remaining backpacks to local schools. Thanks to the Decatur PF team for supporting our employees while giving back to our local communities!

The ACPV is an American Veterinary Medical Association-accredited organization that advances poultry health and well-being by setting standards for veterinary specialists, supporting specialty certification and continuing education, and promoting excellence in poultry veterinary medicine.
