Life has been a bit stressful lately, so let’s share some wisdom that sounded completely ridiculous at the time but somehow turned out to be true.

I’ll go first…

My dad has been a general contractor my entire life, and every single time we’d start a home improvement project, he’d say:

“A temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.”

As a kid, I thought it was the most annoying thing I’d ever heard. 😅

Now? I say it all the time.

Kitchen torn apart? Temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.

Building a business? Temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.

Trying a new recipe that turns your kitchen into a disaster zone? Temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement. 😂

Y’all 🥹♥️🙌🏼

Y'all... this burger was absolutely unreal.
What started with a jar of Bourbon Smokehouse Onion Jam from MW Jam Co. turned into one of the best burgers I've ever made.
Tonight's lineup:
🥩 Beef & pork burger blend
🥓 Maple pepper bacon
🌶️ Homemade citrus chipotle sauce
🧅 Crispy onion strings
🥃 Bourbon Smokehouse Onion Jam
🍞 Toasted sesame bun
And here's my unpopular opinion...
🤷‍♀️ No cheese.
I know, I know. Don't come for me. 😂
But honestly? With all the flavors happening on this burger, I didn't miss it one bit. The sweet smoky onion jam, the crispy bacon, the crunch from the onion strings, and that little kick from the citrus chipotle sauce all worked together perfectly.
This was one of those meals where everybody gets quiet for a minute because they're too busy eating.
Safe to say this one is going into the Carruthers Kitchen recipe collection. 💜

And this time, I added a little something extra… ✨ Vanilla Bean Paste ✨

Y’all. When I tell you this simple addition takes an already delicious Blueberry Jam and elevates it to a whole new level… 🤌🏼🤏🏼 The rich vanilla notes pair perfectly with the sweet, juicy blueberries and create a flavor that tastes like summer in a jar.

Spread it on toast, swirl it into yogurt, spoon it over cheesecake, or do what I do and sneak a bite straight from the jar. I won’t tell. 😉
